Is Golfer free?
Playing is. Matching, scoring, joining rounds, and joining leagues don't cost anything. The only time money changes hands is an entry fee an organizer sets for their own league or tournament — and that goes to them.
Do I need a handicap?
No. Pick a skill level and start playing — as you post scores, Golfer calculates your handicap from the rounds you actually play. If you already have one, you can add it. Your handicap is what keeps matches fair and sets your net scores in leagues.
How do verified handicaps work?
Your scores are peer-verified: the golfers you play with confirm each round, so your handicap reflects rounds that were actually witnessed, not just self-reported. Skill, attitude, and etiquette endorsements work the same way.
Why do you need my location?
We use it to find golfers and games near you and sort them by distance. We don't share your exact location with other players, and we don't sell it. Other golfers only see a general area, like your city — never a street address.
What do you do with my information?
We use it to run the app for you: matching, scoring, your rounds and leagues, and any payments you make. We don't sell your data, and we don't post anything on your behalf.
Who can see my profile?
Other golfers see your player card: your name, photo, general area, skill level, and endorsements. They don't see your contact details, exact location, or payment info. You choose what's on your card, and you can update it anytime.
Can I delete my account?
Yes — anytime, from your settings. Everything that identifies you — name, photo, contact info, location, messages, and payment details — is permanently deleted, and your email is freed to sign up again later. Your past rounds stay on as an anonymous “Golfer” so the golfers you played with keep their history intact.
Do I need to download the app?
Nope. Golfer runs right in your browser, on your phone or your computer. The iPhone and Android apps just make it smoother — home-screen access, better notifications, and full-screen play — so we recommend grabbing one once you're hooked.
So how does Tournamatch make money?
We run our own Tournamatch tournaments, and we help organizers run their leagues, charity events, and pro events. When an organizer collects payments through the app, we take a small transaction fee. That's the whole model — everything else is free to use.
What's the difference between Golfer and Tournamatch?
Golfer is the app you play in. Tournamatch is the company behind it — and the name on the tournaments we host. Same team: Golfer by Tournamatch.
